November 6th, 2002: Cub Scout Visit.

A group of Cub Scouts from Simsbury, CT visited the Avon shop today. We gave them instructions on the use of hand and power tools. We then helped them put together Bird House kits. Here a few pictures.

October 2002:

Sanford and Hawley donated orientated strand board to First Church of Christ, Congregational, 1652 in Farmington for use in blocking and preparing a container for shipment to Sierra Leone. The humanitarian aid shipment included a number of supplies to assist Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leone in its reconstruction efforts after being devastated by many years of civil war. Goods sent by the church included 46 computers, 29 printers, 14 overhead projectors, a 30" TV monitor, 3 LCD panels, 1 500 page paper drill, 198 page collator copier, a copier, a CD burner and 3,000 lbs of books. Many of the items were donated by Central Connecticut State University with others in the Farmington Valley adding to the shipment. Sanford and Hawley is proud to be a part of this effort to help Fourah Bay College rebuild.
